Margaret Ruf (oboist/English horn) is a proud founding member and president of the board of directors of the Julien Chamber Winds. She has enjoyed 20+ years of performing arts camaraderie in the Tri-State Area since moving from Oregon back to Wisconsin with her musical and theatrical family. As the owner and practitioner of a private practice physical therapy clinic in Platteville, WI, Ms. Ruf occasionally combines professional and musical skills: she has made presentations for the International Double Reed Society in the USA, Australia, and Canada on the subject of "Pain in the Performer" (in collaboration with William Dawson, MD).
Margaret also plays oboe/EH for UW-Platteville's Symphony Band, has been a sub with the Dubuque Symphony Orchestra, regularly plays in pit orchestras and eclectic ensembles in the area and holds the post of Administrator for the Platteville Children's Choir. Margaret extends much gratitude for your interest in Julien Winds and thanks you for your ongoing support of the arts!
