Wendy Hinman started playing horn when she was eleven years old. She found her love in music while taking lessons with Jan Bach when she was in high school and continued on in college studying at Northern Illinois University. She continued her studies at University of Northern Iowa with Thomas Tritle. She has performed as a section member with the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Symphony Orchestra, the Dubuque Symphony Orchestra, the Des Moines Symphony Orchestra, and the Clinton Symphony Orchestra. She is the founder of the Dubuque Horn Choir. She has soloed with the Loras Concert Band, and been invited to perform with the Julien Chamber Choir on several occasions as well as many church services. Mrs. Hinman is an adjunct horn teacher at the University of Dubuque, Clarke University and has a studio where she teaches students of all ages at Northeast Iowa School of Music. Today, she currently performs in the Muscatine Symphony Orchestra and Julien Winds as well as various chamber groups and musical pit orchestras around the community.
